DeepL achieves ISO 27001 certification

Cologne, Germany, January 19th, 2021

DeepL, a leading AI company revolutionizing translation technology, is proud to announce that it has achieved the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001 certification for the development, operation, and distribution of its translation software.

Issued by TÜV Rheinland Cert SE, the certification confirms that DeepL's information security systems and processes meet industry best practices.

"ISO 27001 cements DeepL's ongoing commitment to security, privacy, and reliability," shared DeepL CEO Jaroslaw Kutylowski. "We are now officially able to help our customers meet their own compliance standards by embracing best practices and industry standards."

ISO 27001 is an international information security certificate, crucial for protecting essential client information and other private materials. It focuses on a process-based approach to operating and maintaining a strict Information Security Management System (ISMS). DeepL was audited by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH in November 2020 and successfully passed this vital certification. The certification details 14 control categories including information security policy, security organization, asset classification controls, personnel security, physical security, communication management, access controls, system deployment, continuity planning, and compliance.
