Five big things to look out for at DeepL Dialogues next week

If you were fortunate enough to make it to the first-ever DeepL Dialogues last year, then you’ll have a good idea why it’s fixed in my mind as one of the most exciting events I’ve ever been part of. The energy in the room was something else: curious minds, exchanging new perspectives and ideas, and determined to push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI. It was the type of energy that leaves you in no doubt that things can move forward very quickly indeed.

That’s why I’m even more excited to be counting down to this year’s DeepL Dialogues in just over a week’s time, on November 5. Once again, our gathering in Berlin will bring together language and AI enthusiasts, future-thinkers, innovators and pioneers in every sense of the word. However, this year’s event is far bigger, with far more announcements, innovations and breakthrough thinking to showcase. So much has happened in the 12 months since we last gathered this way. DeepL has moved forward massively, and the possibilities for AI innovation and solving real business challenges have moved forward along with us.

Whether you’re joining us in Berlin, following our big announcements on social, or catching up through the content we’ll be sharing on the day, here are 5 big things to watch out for at Dialogues this year.

More curious minds, more great conversations, more big ideas

One of my favorite things about DeepL Dialogues is the way that this event stays true to its name by deliberately creating space for conversations that make a difference. They take place between customers, developers, expert speakers, AI pioneers, scientists, indeed everyone with a forward-thinking interest in the future. If you’re in Berlin, I’d encourage you to dive into the opportunities to meet and exchange ideas: the breaks, the lunch, the evening reception. I guarantee a buzz at all of them. Embrace the exchange that takes place in our focused Masterclass sessions as well. They’re a great opportunity to talk to fellow customers about adoption strategies, new ideas for generating value from AI, and turning language and localization into growth.

We’ll be sharing video of all of our onstage sessions after Dialogues. That means that, even if you can’t make it, there’s a chance to hear ideas from the likes of Zappi, Nimdzi Insights, DZ Bank AG, Thatgamecompany, leading research institute Fraunhoffer-Gesellschaft, and many more.

The big reveals from the DeepL product roadmap

It’s been a hugely busy 12 months for our AI research and product development teams. You’ll have seen our news about DeepL Agent and speech-to-speech translation. There’s a lot more to come, and a lot of new products will be announced for the first time on the DeepL Dialogues stage. If you want an early look at what’s coming for AI, translation, productivity and how work gets done, make sure you don’t miss the keynote from our new Chief Product Officer Gonçalo Gaiolas.

A different vision of Agentic AI

The world is stepping into the era of Agentic AI, but for a lot of businesses and their employees that era has so far meant more questions than answers. It can feel that AI is adding new levels of tech complexity on top of the tools that we’re already using, and new tasks and skills that employees need to get up to speed with.

This is why DeepL’s vision for agentic AI is genuinely different and genuinely exciting. We’re approaching this technology from a distinct perspective that’s rooted in our mastery of language, and our deep understanding of the tasks and workflows that run on language. With DeepL Agent, we’ve created a new experience of AI that starts with human-friendly collaboration and understanding, and works alongside you to make every task more fluent. We’re ready to show the world what a huge difference that can make.

Reimagining the role of translation

Language and translation will always be fundamental to what DeepL does, and they are right at the heart of DeepL Dialogues this year. We’ve got big news to share on the speed, scale and quality of DeepL translations, and we’ll be revealing breakthrough features that help to transform the role of translation itself. They give localization teams consistency and control at scale, and open up exciting new possibilities for multilingual content creation.

Shifting mindsets to become future fluent

The conversations at DeepL Dialogues go beyond the tools and the solutions we’re building. They also embrace the shifts in mindset that play a vital role in making transformation possible. We’ll be hosting conversations with people who have unique expertise and perspective to share on helping people become fluent in AI. Wharton School Professor Ethan Mollick is one of the world’s most respected and insightful voices on this subject, with a visionary perspective on how we can leverage AI to empower people for the future. First female German astronaut Rabea Rogge will be sharing her out-of-this-world journey of piloting the first manned spaceflight to complete a polar orbit of the earth — an achievement that shows what’s possible when pioneering individuals work hand-in-hand with cutting-edge technology.

That’s a theme we’ll be coming back to again and again in Berlin. The future of AI is not fixed, and the human potential it empowers is expanding by the minute. Our mission is to enable the future fluency that helps organizations and their people to embrace them. And that’s why I’m so excited about Dialogues this year.
