Building a new kind of enterprise agent
DeepL Agent is a general-purpose AI agent designed to autonomously handle a wide range of business tasks through natural language instructions. From building and researching sales account lists, to translating and publishing website content – it's built to streamline the repetitive, time-consuming work you do every day.
We approached this project with a unique perspective, drawing on years of research and insights from applying AI to solve some of the hardest problems in language, where understanding context, precision and security are essential. From there, we started to create something ambitious: an AI agent designed for businesses that goes beyond just understanding language, but that can also reason, make decisions, and execute tasks on its own. An agent that understands you and how you work — where you simply describe the actions you want to happen, and it can handle the rest.

How does DeepL Agent work?
DeepL Agent is a Computer Using Agent (CUA) that uses your computer the same way you do. Based on user instructions in natural language, it uses a virtual keyboard, browser and mouse to perform work for you. It’s a powerful combination of intelligent, autonomous work with fine-grained controls and safety.

What can DeepL Agent do?
DeepL Agent is developed for business use cases – unlike other CUA’s that focus on everyday, consumer-oriented tasks like booking travel or buying groceries – and can do almost anything you can do on your computer. It can move through the business systems and websites you work in; plan work, solve problems and reason; analyze data and diagrams; and make decisions, executing on them from start-to-finish.
The agent is highly flexible, capable of handling simple and complex workflows. This includes localization workflows as well as various other functions across sales, marketing, operations and beyond. The table below highlights just a few examples of our initial pilots, showing the range of systems and actions the agent can support.

How does DeepL Agent help your business?
We built this technology to transform how people work and businesses operate. Our early testing of the agent has shown that it has a positive impact on both individual efficiency as well as team-level performance. Teams using the agent to support routine tasks, manual processes and the type of busywork that is essential to everyday work (but not very exciting for the people doing it) are seeing clear productivity gains, which can shave hours or more from a typical daily workload. We’ve also seen benefits like improved collaboration, as teams using the agent share their successes, which has fueled even more ideas for future innovation.
How does DeepL Agent ensure safety?
Since DeepL Agent is designed for business use cases, special care has been taken to ensure the highest degree of data security and safety. As part of our European heritage, we’ve placed a special emphasis on things like data protection and controlling personal information.
We’ve built the agent with multi-level safeguards giving not only individual users but also admin, team leads and top level management direct control over its use and outputs. This includes special features to “monitor and manage” all the tasks the agent is doing so you can watch it plan, reason and take action. For additional security measures, users can also “stop and check” the agent at any time, or require human-in-the-loop validation and approvals to ensure the highest degree of accuracy and decision-making.
So what’s next? (as of September 2025)
DeepL Agent is currently in beta testing with select customers, and we’re excited that it will soon graduate from Labs to become generally available for purchase and pilots in the coming months.
