DeepL Translator adds Korean and Norwegian (bokmål)

COLOGNE, GERMANY, January 31, 2023

Today, DeepL, the tech company powering global communication through artificial intelligence, announced that their suite of translation tools now supports the Korean and Norwegian (bokmål) languages. The addition of these language pairs brings the total number of supported languages to 31.

“Launching both Korean and Norwegian has been a priority for DeepL,” notes Jaroslaw Kutylowski, founder and CEO of DeepL. “We’ve seen an increase in demand for our technology in both Europe and Asia, and these releases enable millions more individuals and thousands more enterprises to tackle everyday communication and unlock new opportunities.”

DeepL’s products are gaining popularity throughout Asia, particularly among major Japanese companies, and the team aims to have similar growth with the addition of Korean. Further, the introduction of Norwegian can enable more seamless communication between businesses and customers in Nordic countries, as DeepL already supports Danish, Swedish, and Finnish.

To stay at the forefront of AI technology, DeepL continuously invests in research and development. Over time, this has allowed the company to expand its product offering and focus more broadly on AI communications. The most recent addition to DeepL’s suite of tools is DeepL Write, an AI writing companion available in English and German that helps improve grammar, phrasing, tone, style, and word choice.

DeepL is the translator of choice for millions of people around the globe, enabling them to communicate with colleagues, access to new markets for their businesses, simplify international travel, and speak with friends and family abroad. DeepL is free to use and available at DeepL.com, via desktop app and mobile apps, on Chrome and Edge browser extensions, as well through an API.
